Fire doors refer to doors that can meet the requirements of fire resistance stability, integrity, and insulation within a certain period of time. It is a fire-resistant partition located in fire compartments, evacuation stairwells, vertical shafts, and other areas. Fire doors not only have the function of ordinary doors, but also have the function of preventing the spread of fire and smoke, which can prevent the spread of fire for a certain period of time and ensure the evacuation of personnel.

Fire doors are classified by material: steel fire doors and wooden fire doors. There are some differences in the installation methods of these two types of fire doors in terms of details. There are also slight differences in fire rating, so everyone must pay attention to details when installing.

Installation method of fireproof door

Firstly, when installing wooden fire doors, the door frame size should be 20mm smaller than the opening, and the bottom foot of the door frame should be buried 20mm below the ground The door frame should be firmly fixed to the wall, perpendicular and angled. Attention should be paid to the straightness and same angle of the upright and supporting frames to avoid planing and sawing. There should be no less than 3 fixed points on both sides of the door frame, and the spacing should preferably not exceed 800mm.

Secondly, during the installation process of steel fire doors, considering the issue of bending deformation of the door frame, wooden beams should be used to support the width direction of the door frame. The lower foot of the door frame should be buried 20mm below the ground, and then the door frame should be welded to the embedded parts on the wall. Then make a hole in the wall at the corner of the door frame, pour concrete with cement, sand, and expanded perlite (1:2:5), and wait for the concrete to solidify before use. Fire doors require airtightness:

The national standard has clear requirements for the size of the gaps at each overlap of fire doors: for steel fire doors, it is required that the overlap between the leaf and the door frame should not be less than 10mm, and the gap between the leaf and the door frame on both sides should not be greater than 4mm. After the installation and closure of the fire door, the gap should not be too large, otherwise the sealing performance of the fire door is difficult to guarantee, and it is also difficult to reflect its ability to suppress the spread of fire and smoke under fire conditions.

Therefore, the gap width for installing fire doors must be strictly controlled. According to these standard specifications for installation, the effective function of the fire door can be ensured to a certain extent. Consumers must supervise the construction unit to prevent problems such as cutting corners, so that the fire door will not cause casualties in the event of a fire.
